Consett Sunday League: DARREN Grundy was the star of the show as the Steel Club claimed maximum points in Division Two at home to Annfield Plain Demi.
Grundy notched a hat-trick and there was another for Andy McBride in the 4-1 win that saw Lee Curry replying.
Gareth Thompson's goal was not enough for the Highwayman who lost out at home by the odd goal in three against the Black Horse who replied through Brian Stokoe and David Harris.
Shaftoes were 3-0 winners at home to the Plainsman with a couple of the goals netted by Paul Miles and the other by Andy Taylor.
It was honours even when Bute Arms and Smith Arms shared six goals. David Day, Darren Rowcroft and Danny Gilbert scored for the home team with the Smiths battling back through two-goal Alan Robinson and Jim Storey.
Cricketers were also amongst the points when the Blackhill side ran out 5-1 winners Oxhill Central.
There was one match in Division Three and it saw Ball Alley crush the Hat & Feather 8-1. Alan Robinson led the way with a hat-trick, there was two each from Darren Scarr and Tony Boyd and the other went to Paul Palmer while Richard Carroll scored the Feather's consolation goal.

DIVISION One leaders Lanchester Social were pushed all of the way before recording their third round passage at Delves United who operate in a division below them.
Lee McVittie was once again amongst the goals with a hat-trick and there was two for Phil Raisbeck with Delves replying through James Parkin, Richard Foster and Joe Clark.
Mark Turner and David Thompson goals saw Golden Lion come out on top 2-0 in the all First Division affair with Annfield Plain Cricket Club.
Another top flight showdown saw Chopwell edge out Stanley Central by the odd goal in three. Lee Fortunato and Gary Neasham bagged the crucial goals with Richard Little hitting back for the Central.
Blackhall Mill squeezed through 2-1 against Third Division Horse & Groom as did Lintz Cricket Club at Consett Top Club with Mickey Edmunds scoring twice and Phil Mullen replying for the Top Club.
Thomas Bushby bagged a hat-trick and there was another goal for Darren Watson as Stateside gained their expected win over Scotch Arms by a 4-1 margin - the visitors scoring though David Bewick.
In their outstanding second round tie, Black Horse were 3-0 winners against Burnhope with goals from Graham Gill, Peter Maguire and Shaun Bell.

DUE to a heavy cup programme, there was only one match played in the league.
However it produced an exciting encounter at Pelton Crown Inn who became the latest side to fall foul of the ever-improving Stanley Masons Arms SC.
The Stanley side went on to edge the match by the odd goal in five with goals from Ty Swann, Paul Hutchinson and Marc Elliott .
Stephen Cameron hit back with both of the Crown's goals and one of those was from the penalty spot.

PELTON Fell got off to a dream start with a goal inside the opening ten seconds from Norman Proud.
Shell-shocked Low Fell Jolly Miller never recovered from the lightening quick set back and the Fell went on to win 7-2 with Daniel Bankhead striking four of the goals. The others came from two-goal Lee Hutchinson with John Robinson hitting both of the Miller's efforts.
Struggling Stanley RAFA lost out 3-1 when they came up against played Washington Oasis. Lee Tweedy scored for the RAFA with Mark Wallis (2) and Ross Fryer booking the oasis's passage.

Stanley Royal are confident of making a clean sweep of all domestic trophies this season with unlucky Felling Mulberry the latest side to be brushed out of the way in their second round encounter.
And to make it even more miserable for the Mulberry they were hit for double figures as the Royal recorded an emphatic 12-1 success.
David Robson and Kelvin Armstrong both notched hat-tricks, there was two each from David Turner and Mark Drake along with an own goal while Gary Harkness scored a consolation goal for the plucky Mulberry.
