DRUGS squad police officers in east Cleveland have had a successful week after a raid and two successful prosecutions.
The raid at a house in Loftus, near Saltburn, on Wednesday, led to the seizure of a large amount of ecstasy, cocaine and cannabis, along with an undisclosed quantity of money.
A 23-year-old man was arrested by Langbaurgh Drugs Squad and released on police bail pending forensic analysis of the drugs.
The drugs seizures follow two court cases this week in which two people arrested by the drugs squad were successfully prosecuted.
In one case, a man was sentenced to two years in prison for possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
In the other, a woman was sentenced to two years' jail for the same offence.
Detective constable Danny Oldroyd, of Langbaurgh Drugs Squad, said: "Day or night, we will seek out the individuals who deal in drugs in the town.
"Together with the public's continued support we will put a stop to it. Wherever they go we will go."
The drugs squad can be called confidentially on 0800 0929702.
