A festive feature is adding seasonal warmth to an exhibition of decorative glass from Finland.
Storyteller Chris Bostock is giving children a flavour of Finland as part of the Christmas events programme at the National Glass Centre, in Sunderland.
The storytelling sessions, in which Mr Bostock plays his cimbala instrument, complement the centre's Tapio Wirkkala - Design Legend from Finland display.
While the children hear Mr Bostock's stories, their parents can sample the Finnish specialities of a glass of Glogg - a type of mulled wine - accompanied by gingerbread, in the Glass Gallery, or browse around the selection of Finnish glass in the centre's shop.
Mr Bostock said he hoped his stories capture the spirit and nature of Tapio Wirkkala's homeland.
The centre, on St Peter's Riverside, off Dame Dorothy Avenue, will be staying open throughout the holiday period, apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
It is open from 10am to 5pm, and admission is free, although there is £5 charge for adults and £3 for concessions, for the Glass Tour.
Family tickets are available for £12 for the tour.
