CORUS is planning to break records by building the tallest metal stack in the country.
The Anglo Dutch steelmaker will erect the 120-metre structure at its Redcar coke works.
The stack will be twice the size of the current vent and will help dispose of sulphur dioxide.
Danish firm Steelcon is building the £600,000 structure, which will be lifted into place by Teesside crane and contract lifting firm Sarens.
