EIGHT Northern Echo readers will have a bumper Christmas this year after winning several prizes.
The readers won in The Northern Echo's Christmas Wish competition, which has been running for the past two months.
Winners include George Smart, from Chester-le-Street, Hannah Wood, from Bishop Auckland, Stephen Newton, from Spennymoor, Julie Petitjean and Kathleen Stanley, both from Ferryhill, all County Durham.
Many of the winners came to The Northern Echo's office, in Darlington, this week to collect their prizes, supplied by A1 Motor Stores, which has branches across the region.
Prizes included adult and children's bikes, a Barbie pushchair and a Barbie scooter.
More than 1,000 people entered the competition by answering a question in the paper every Friday and sending them in.
Organiser Sam Scott said: "The readers responded very well to the competition, which is wonderful.
"I want to thank A1 Motor Sports for supplying the prizes, which will make our winners' Christmases more special."
