HEATING manufacturer Myson is hitting all the right notes putting its technology to good use in the region's international centre for music and musical discovery.
The business, based in Gateshead, is providing its underfloor heating system to The Sage, Gateshead, which is helping to put the town on the cultural map.
Three floors of the building will be fitted with the system, covering a total of 3,500sq metres, including corridors, the entrance lobby and stairwells.
The Sage Gateshead, the new home of Northern Sinfonia and Folkworks, is due to open towards the end of next year.
Its glazed concourse will enfold working spaces and concert halls suitable for music of all kinds and a centre dedicated to achieving excellence in music education.
Geoff White, underfloor director at Myson, said: "The North-East has a rich musical heritage, with the likes of Sting, Dire Straits singer Mark Knopfler and ACDC's Brian Johnson all hailing from Tyneside.
"The Sage Gateshead will prove a major boost to countless more hoping to make a name for themselves in the industry, and we are delighted to be able to work on such a prestigious project in Myson's home town."
A spokesman for Gateshead Council, said: "The Sage Gateshead was a major part of the joint Capital of Culture bid and it is very apt that a Gateshead firm like Myson is involved in the project."
