BUMBLING workers have put up signs at a court with the town's name spelt wrongly.
Two signs at the roadside entrance to the newly refurbished magistrates' court in Racecourse Lane, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, name the building as Nothallerton Court House.
The error is made worse by the presence of signs on the walls of the building, which spell the name correctly.
One astonished passer-by said: "It is something that should have been checked and double-checked. It is bad enough to have had them made, but to put them up as well is beyond belief.
"Whoever is behind this should be suitably embarrassed."
The court house has gained waiting rooms and a cell area, and a video link, during the refurbishment. It re-opens on January 5.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire's Magistrates' Courts' Committee was unavailable for comment.
