RADIOGRAPHERS decided to reveal all to raise funds for their hospital.

The hospital workers, who spend their working lives taking x-rays to pinpoint patients' problems, decided to become pin-ups.

After the department at the James Cook University Hospital closed one night, the team of men and women stripped down to their bare essentials for cheeky calendar shots.

The Adam and Eve posers took a leaf from the members of Rylstone Women's Institute who set the precedent with their risque fundraising calendar exploits mirrored in the hit film Calendar Girls starring Julie Walters and Dame Helen Mirren.

The Middlesbrough radiographers decided on having their own x-rated photographic images following an awareness week organised by the Society of Radiographers.

Senior radiographer Faye Bibbings, Miss August, said: "Among the suggestions of things people could do were raffles and tombolas, but someone suggested a calendar and it just took off from there.

"We're usually the people taking images of other people, so it's a bit strange to be on the other end of the camera.

"Everyone involved enjoyed doing the calendar, and I think the end result shows that life as radiographer is anything but boring.''

A fellow nurse, who is a keen amateur photographer, took the pictures.

The calendar costs £5 and the proceeds will be split between the radiography training fund and oncology unit at the hospital.

Copies can be bought by sending a cheque for £5 plus £1.74 postage and packing made payable to South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust to The Radiography Department, The James Cook University Hospital, Marton Road, Middlesbrough, TS4 3BW.
