A GROUP behind plans to develop Gisborough Priory says the public is enthusiastic about its proposals.

Members from the Gisborough Priory Project are planning to apply for £3m funding to create gardens and develop woodland at the priory to include a visitor's centre.

Earlier this month, the plans were unveiled at Guisborough Methodist Church, in Westgate, and many people filled out response forms, which will be used to refine proposals.

Judith Arber, of Gisborough Priory Project, said: "Everyone involved in putting these proposals together wants to hear the views of the whole community.

"In this way, we can make these plans something that will bring the most benefit to Guisborough."

There will be a further opportunity to view the plans for both the priory and for the Chapel Beck area, at Sunnyfield House for a week from Monday, January 5 between 9.30am and noon.
