A taut yet ultimately disappointing thriller which attempts to play out a murder mystery over the electronic superhighway. Computer geek Thomas Cross (Furlong) lives and breathes for chat rooms and for meeting new people via his trusty keyboard. Over time, he meets and falls head over heels for beautiful Cathy (Decobert). Unfortunately, Thomas is too shy to arrange a meeting with Cathy in the flesh. So he satisfies himself by conversing with her via webcam. During one such broadcast, Thomas witnesses Cathy's brutal murder and telephones the police, knowing only her URL. As the only person to have visited the victim's website that fateful night, Thomas immediately becomes the prime suspect for her slaughter and so he teams up with internet crime specialist Claire Bligh (Fox) and her hacker chum Mark (Ejiofor) to unmask the real culprit.
