HUNDREDS of brave swimmers splashed out for charities in an annual Boxing Day dip.
Middlesbrough-Teesside Lions Club say a record number of hardy souls entered the sea at Redcar.
Spokesman Chris Taylor said: "It went extremely well.
"We had a record number of dippers.
"Last year we had 150, this year, 200. We had a very good turn out of the public.
"Last year we raised £9,000 through sponsorship and over £800 in the passing the bucket, beach collection.
"We should exceed those amounts this year."
The dippers were led by Redcar and Cleveland Mayor Norah Cooney and a piper.
