FOUR shoppers got more than they bargained for when they heard their car registration numbers announced over the airwaves.
Tracey Sayer, Marc Bould, Chantal Brown and Chris Allison had parked in the multi-storey car park at the Wellington Square shopping centre, Stockton, over the Christmas holiday.
All they had to do was listen to Ben Weston's Big Drive Home show on radio station 96.6tfm, to see if their car registrations and names were among five read out, and be the first to ring in.
They each won £500, courtesy of Wellington Square Shopping Centre.
Care assistant Ms Sayer, 19, from Stockton, is planning to spend part of her winninngs on her wedding, which is in September.
Mr Bould, 24, from Ingleby Barwick, plans to buy presents for his three-year-old son.
Ms Brown, 24, said: "As I am expecting a baby in February, I think most of my money will be spent buying new clothes and toys.''
Mr Allison, a 34-year-old prison officer from Ingleby Barwick, plans to put some of the money into a savings account for his four-year-old son.
