IT might have been a ram-raider who smashed the windows of two country houses - but it was a ram-raider of the four-legged kind.
Rambo the ram was apprehended by police for attacks on the houses in the village of Gayles, near Richmond, North Yorkshire.
Officers identified Rambo as a fugitive on the run from the law - and from his owner.
Two days earlier, a ram and 16 ewes went missing from Kersey Green Farm, near Marske. Not a trace of the animals was found until the ram decided to make his presence felt by smashing windows.
Farmer Jack Lynas collected his ram and helped the householders board up their windows.
He said: "I spent all day Friday and all day Saturday walking miles, and there wasn't a sign of anything.
"At 6.30pm on Saturday, the telephone rang and the police said 'Your tup has been found at a housing development at Gayles'.
"There was a big arched window and he had gone right through both sides of it."
Rambo has gone back to his usual job of ensuring a good crop of lambs for the spring.
