A COUPLE were celebrating yesterday after their pub was crowned best in the North-East by a trade magazine.
The Clarendon Hotel in Redcar, east Cleveland, run for the past three years by Roy Myers and Janet Coser, has also been shortlisted for the title of Best Tenanted Pub of the Year.
The award for the pub, which has an accreditation with the English Tourist Board, came from the Morning Advertiser, a weekly publication for licensees.
Mr Myers said: "We enjoy the challenge the pub brings us and we also encourage our staff to explore their own ideas and offer them training at a local college."
