THE new chairwoman of regional development agency One NorthEast carried out her first official duty yesterday.
Margaret Fay was there to welcome an archaeology firm moving into premises on the Harmire Enterprise Park, in Barnard Castle, County Durham.
The £1.4m business park, developed by regional development agency One NorthEast and Teesdale District Council, is now home to Commercial consultancy Northern Archaeological Associates (NAA).
Mrs Fay said: "The units at Harmire have been built to the highest environmental standards and also house the latest technology, enabling firms to find a base and grow in this rural area.
"All of the business units we have developed on the estate are now fully let in just over six months, creating significant employment and economic benefits to the Barnard Castle economy."
NAA was established in 1990 by partners Richard Fraser and Peter Cardwell, with the pair setting up their first office in Barnard Castle two years later.
Providing advice to developers on archaeological constraints and preservation, NAA's work involves research, fieldwork and excavations.
