RESIDENTS of Great Ayton have raised more than £4,000 for charity during the festive period.
Carol services at The Christ church raised more than £2,300 which will be donated to the Diocese of Ho, in Ghana.
This will be further boosted by a charity auction of surplus Christmas gifts and other items at 2.30pm on Saturday, January 31, in the Parochial church hall.
The Children's Society Christingle service raised £316 and carol singers in the village raised another £110.
At the Methodist church, more than £650 was raised for charities that included the National Children's Homes, the Daisy Chain project and the Salvation Army.
The parish council organised Carols on The Green, which raised £215. The Santa float collected £263 for Yatton House.
