YOUNGSTERS from Hurworth School were given the chance to spend two days drawing Durham Cathedral this week.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, year nine pupils from the school, near Darlington, travelled to Durham city to draw the building.
Art teacher Clare Hagan said the purpose of the visit was to enable the children to produce observational drawings of the cathedral's Romanesque architecture.
The drawings will now be used in their project work at school.
She said: "The children worked hard and produced some excellent sketches."
