A NEW chairman has been appointed to lead a Teesside charity.
The Cleveland branch of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen's Families Association (SSAFA) has appointed Gerry Caulfield as branch chairman.
On retirement, following a 26-year Army career, Mr Caulfield moved to Stockton.
He studied for two masters degrees and is in the final stages of his doctorate.
Mr Caulfield took up the post from retiring chairman Frank Dunne last month.
He said he was looking forward to the challenge and being able to help members of the forces community.
The SSAFA branch is at the TA Centre, Stockton Road, Middlesbrough, and helps on average 500 people each year.
It is staffed by volunteers and would like to hear from anyone who can spare a few hours. Training would be provided and expenses paid.
For further information contact the branch on (01642) 217440.
