POLICE have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a nasty and vicious armed robbery.
Staff at the Bells Store, in Larkswood Road, Redcar, east Cleveland, were left traumatised when two men, one armed with a hammer and the other with an axe, threatened them at 10.30pm on Tuesday.
The pair escaped with a small amount of cash in a Ford Orion, registration K979 HHJ, which was later found abandoned in Foxrush Close, Redcar.
Police are anxious to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or who has knowledge of the car.
They are asked to ring Detective Sergeant Nick Owen on (01642) 302626.
