A CLUB for people with mobility problems is hoping to attract even more members following a National Lottery grant.
The Newton Aycliffe Mobility Club opened last year and now, with the help of a £5,000 grant from the Awards for All, the club wants to provide more attractions to help people to get out and make new friends. Some of the money has been spent on two wheelchairs and some of the cash will help to organise more events, including a trip to Darlington Civic Theatre to see the pantomime.
Secretary Sandra Manners said: "The club is a lifeline for many people, some of whom hardly used to leave their own homes. I would urge anyone with a mobility problem to come along."
The club meets every fortnight on a Monday from noon in the Royal British Legion Club on McMillan Road. Call 07899 738396.
