Brandon Prince Bishop clinched all three points in a thrilling 3-2 victory away to Durham City Reserves.
On ten minutes Durham went in front when Stephen Wilson's drive rebounded off the bar before falling to Barry Cook who slotted the ball home coolly. Brandon drew level after 25 minutes when Graham Stobbs beat two defenders and then slotted the ball home from close range. Stephen Graham put Brandon 2-1 up with a simple tap in after the ball rebounded off the keeper. It was 3-1 on 65 minutes when Paul Eilles expertly lobbed the ball over Durham's advancing keeper from 25 yards. Durham managed to pull a goal back with 15 minutes to go when Barry Cook walked in a simple goal from a scramble in the goalmouth.
Ebchester FC managed to win their first game of the season with a thumping 4-0 win away to Seaham Mallard. The score was level at 0-0 in the first half, with both teams unable to produce a scoring chance. Chris Parkin scored the opener 15 minutes into the second half. Striking the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Neil Swainston made it 2-0 after 60 minutes when he ramaged through on goal from 30 yards out before beating the keeper from close range. Another goal from Swainston made it 3-0 before Andrew Pearson got into the act, making it 4-0 with a crisp shot past the keeper with only 10 minutes remaining.
Coxhoe Athletic's 7-1 away win over Birtley Town Reserves cemented their second place in the league, one point behind Belford House with two games in hand. On the scoresheet for Coxhoe were Ralph Petitgean (2), Dean Smithson (2), Andrew Soppitt, Lee Thistlewaite and Dave Hutchinson. Lee Cuthbertson replied for Birtley.
Hartlepool Town outclassed neighbours Hartlepool FC winning 4-0 in the quarter final of the Washington Aged Peoples Trophy. Dave Smith put them ahead when he received a pass down the right hand side, before slipping the ball inside the near post. Phil Nicholson made it 2-0 five minutes before the interval. Jamie Parkinson split Hartlepool Club's defence with a through pass for Nicholson who nudged the ball past the advancing keeper. The Town went 3-0 up 15 minutes into the second half. Jamie Parkinson again producing a cross from the left to Geoff Cooper who easily beat the keeper from 10 yards. A 20yard volley from Chris Birkbeck sealed the game 4-0.
Goals from Michael Conner, Martin Deacon, Paul Robertson, John Cogger and Mark Green earned Belford House a place in the semi-finals of the Washington Aged Peoples Trophy when they beat Gateshead A 5-1.
