This week's league and cup programmes were decimated by the weather with only one game being played.
This was at Stillington where The Royal took on Stanhope Town in the Durham Minor Cup.
The Royal were first off the mark when Lee O'Connell meet Paul Cleary's cross to fire home. Stanhope fought back and got an equaliser with a great shot just before the break. In the second half Royal wasted a number of chances before bringing on sub Lee Norman who quickly made his mark to put Royal in front. A third came shortly after through Paul Burt, Stanhope pressed in the final ten minutes and with a couple of minutes remaining reduced the arrears but it was The Royal who go through to the quarter finals. The other two sides still involved, Darlington Travellers Rest and Tindale WMC, will replay their postponed fixtures on the January 10.
