POLICE are hoping people will find a distinctive baby's pram which could hold clues to a burglary.
The break-in took place between last Friday night and Saturday morning, at a house in Honister Place, Newton Aycliffe.
The burglars stole a 28in widescreen Sanyo TV, a Matsui video recorder and Alba DVD player. They also made off with £90 cash.
In the hallway they found a white and blue Silver Cross pram, which the occupants used for their eight-week-old baby. Police believe the burglars loaded some of the items into the pram and then wheeled it out.
"The pram is very distinctive and is of a traditional design. If it has been dumped somewhere it will stick out like a sore thumb," said Detective Constable Dave Robinson.
"Finding it would be a positive and potentially useful step forward in our inquiries. We would also like to hear from residents in the area that night who may have seen anything suspicious."
Anyone with information is asked to ring Newton Aycliffe CID on (01325) 314401 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
