A SIX-month project that gives people the chance to take part in art and craft workshops is to be launched.
The scheme has been started by Community Arts Now (Can), from Hinderwell, near Staithes, which has named it Forward Together.
The project's inaugural event takes place on Saturday, in Staithes Village Hall, between 10am and 3pm, when people will be able to find out what is on offer.
Funding of £26,400 has been made available for the project from a variety of sources, including the European Regional Development Fund, Rural Arts North Yorkshire and Scarborough Borough Council.
The scheme will employ a lead artist and a development worker to deliver the project .
They will also help to secure funding for after July this year.
