WORKERS at motor firm Land Rover are to stage a 24-hour strike in a dispute over pay, union leaders announced.
Employees at the company's plant in Solihull, West Midlands, will walk out on January 26 in protest at a pay offer worth 6.5 per cent.
The workers will also continue an overtime ban as part of a campaign to persuade the company to improve its offer.
Dave Osborne, national officer of the Transport and General Workers Union, said: "The unions did not take this decision lightly, but in view of the company's reluctance to reopen negotiations, it is felt that action is necessary to bring them back to the negotiating table.
"We hope that the company will reflect on the decision and meet the unions with a view to reaching a negotiated settlement."
