A FORMER North Yorkshire woman has died at the age of 99.
Gladys Adeline Tweddle died peacefully at Cold Springs Park, in Penrith, Cumbria, on January 5, three months short of her 100th birthday.
She was married to Thomas Tweddle MBE for 60 years. Mr Tweddle, known as Tat, was headteacher of Darlington's Gladstone Street Boys' School - later Central Secondary School - for 25 years.
The couple, lived at Brompton, near Northallerton, until Mr Tweddle's death in 1993.
Following her husband's death, Mrs Tweddle went to live in Cumbria.
Her funeral will be held on Monday. Friends are asked to meet for the service at Darlington Crematorium at 1.15pm. Flowers can be sent to Seaton Leng and Son, in Bondgate, Darlington.
