PUPILS who took up the challenge to devise a tourism marketing strategy were rewarded with a camcorder for their school.
Thirty members of higher class one of Easington Community School's year eight group contributed towards a brochure to help sell Korea as a tourist destination.
Following a month-long study, the County Durham pupils' completed work, Destination Korea, was submitted before Christmas.
On their return at the start of the term, they learned that they narrowly failed to land top prize, a five-star holiday in Korea.
But judges from the Korean Embassy and London University placed the Easington entry in the top five to win the camcorder, appropriately made by Korean company Samsung.
