Premier Division: Athletic Rugby 1 Rovers 2: Rovers set the early pace and Andy McKenna hit the post in the first minute.
However it was Athletic who opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Mark Taylor dispossessed Chris Pearson and pulled the ball back for Alan Hoey to slot home from four yards. Rovers finally equalised on the hour when a McKenna header gave Ruddock no chance. Athletic had their best spell of the game but couldn't find their way past some desperate defending. The visitors took the lead in the 75th minute when a clearance found Anthony Skedd who showed great composure before drilling home from 25 yards. Both sides gave their all in what proved to be difficult weather conditions in a game well handled by Billy Reid.
Blackhall CC 4 Shakespeare 0
A spirited effort from Shakespeare wasn't enough, and once they had broken through their stubborn rearguard they added three more without reply. Three goals from Scott Burns and one from Graham Bell marked a good all round performance with Chris Rookes starring. Keeper Andrew Vasey and defender David Coull were best for the visitors.
Supporters C. 5 Belle Vue Old Boys 1
The home side benefited from fielding virtually a full strength side and went on to win comfortably. They did go behind to an early goal, but replied quickly through Chris Birkbeck's penalty. The scorer set up the second for Mick Bell to head home and Mick Gallagher drove home from 20 yards to make it 3-1 at half-time. Supporters had the wind in their favour but it was the visitors who went closest but missed from the spot. Gallagher then added the fourth following up Cartwright's free-kick and David Smith got a deserved goal to round off the scoring.
West Park 1 Blackhall Hardwick 1
Bottom of the table West Park picked up their first point in six weeks after a hard fought draw. Park tried to make best use of the elements, but it was Blackhall who opened the scoring on the half hour with a slick move. The home side soon responded and Marty McGarry's through ball was neatly tucked away by Chris Dring. It was one way traffic for much of the second half and the West Park were indebted to Andy Elsden who pulled off a series of fine saves ably assisted by Stephen Coates and David Metcalf in defence.
Division One
Hartlepool CC 0 Odessa Bar 0
These two top five sides served up some excellent football in spite of the weather conditions. Lee Bryan and Liam Bromley both went close to putting Odessa ahead from long range. At the other end Gary Brown pulled off tow brilliant saves to deny the Cricketers certain goals and in the second injured himself, but replacement Mark Bell continued to shine. Odessa won a penalty with just minutes to go but Jonathon Crone fired over the bar.
Corporation Welfare 4 Office 3
Office took an early lead but this was cancelled out by John Paul Tumilty's strike. The visitors added two more before the break but Corporation stepped up a gear in the second half. Man of the match Robbie Durham fired home a brilliant strike from 30 yards and then followed up with two more for a deserved hat-trick.
Rugby 2 Greatham Bull & Dog 1
The visitors took a deserved lead after 15 minutes from Daniel Bew's superb 30 yard strike, but this simply spurred Rugby into action and they dominated the remainder of the half. They equalised just before the break when Steve Gutteridge scored direct from a corner. Although Bull and Dog started brighter, they rarely troubled the Rugby defence and the home side's patience was rewarded when Chris Fletcher's header rebounded in off bar and keeper.
Tunstall Old Boys 7 Corner Flag 0
Playing against the wind in the first half Tunstall found it difficult to break down Corner Flag's stubborn defence and they only had a single well-taken goal from Colin Hunter to show for their efforts. However they took full advantage of the elements in the second half and added six further with it reply Chris Tarn added two and Davey Bell another to make it four nil. Tarn completed his hat-trick Ryan Parker made it six and when Bell's header rebounded from the crossbar Tarn followed it up to score his 4th of the game from round off him man-of-the-match performance.
