THE name of a military policeman killed during the war in Iraq could be added to a village memorial.
Middleton St George Parish Council is backing a move to honour WO Colin Wall, who was killed in Basra. The 34-year-old company sergeant major lived in the village with his wife, Trish, and their baby son, Alexander.
Coun Doris Jones said the memorial inscription was the idea of her husband, Brian, as he had initiated the renovation of the 1922 war memorial at St Lawrence's Church.
"He was a village lad and his wife and baby are still living here," said Coun Jones.
Members agreed to meet the cost of the inscription
