PUPILS and staff at a Stockton school have been praised by education inspectors.
The team from Ofsted said Grangefield School was an increasingly effective and good school, which was well-led and managed in a clear-sighted and forward-looking way.
They found there was enrichment to the youngsters' education with the provision of good extra-curricular activities.
Their report said: "Overall, the school gives a good quality of education as well as very good quality care, welfare, health and safety for pupils, where they are given good advice, support and guidance, which helps them through the different stages of their education."
Mick Hill, the headteacher, said: "We are pleased with the report, which shows us we are doing well and indicates much improvement since our last inspection.
"We have tackled issues which were identified then, and the report gives us good guidance on areas for improvement.
"The inspectors reported how we pride ourselves on being a comprehensive school at the heart of the local community, and we intend to continue in this vein."
Acting on inspectors' recommendations, the school will be looking to improve its provision for modern foreign languages.
It will also work to raise attendance and further improve accommodation, particularly for classes in design and technology.
