REGULARS from a Dales pub have saved their pennies over the past few months and, as a result, were able to hand over pounds to a charity which works with blind and partially-sighted people.
There has been a large whisky bottle standing on the bar at The Royal Oak in Dacre, where customers have been able to donate small change.
Thanks to their generosity, licensees Steve and Anna Cock have been able to present a cheque for £288 to The Henshaws Society, which runs a college in Harrogate and workshops in Knaresborough.
The cash will go towards the cost of DJ equipment for the college music department.
Henshaws' appeals director, David Lale, said: "We are always delighted to receive donations from local people and are thrilled Steve and Anna chose to support us."
