A TEENAGE girl remained seriously ill in hospital last night after being struck by a taxi at the weekend.
The incident happened in Providence Street, in Guisborough, east Cleveland, at 10.45pm on Saturday.
Police said the 14-year-old appeared to step from the pavement into the path of a Ford Galaxy, and was hit by the vehicle's front near-side.
The girl was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with a broken pelvis, broken arm and severe head injuries. Her condition was last night described as poorly but stable.
