NEWCASTLE UNITED'S wing wizards were last night hailed as two of the best in the Premiership by midfielder Jermaine Jenas.
Frenchman Laurent Robert and Peruvian Nolberto Solano were instrumental in the Magpies' victory over Fulham on Monday night.
And teammate Jenas is convinced the pair can help Newcastle achieve their Champions League dream if they continue to show that scintillating form.
Despite speculation hinting at a move to Aston Villa, Solano seems destined to remain on Tyneside and fight for Sir Bobby Robson's cause regardless of rifts with his boss over playing for Peru.
Robert is fulfilling his manager's calls for him to be more consistent and his acrobatic overhead kick against Fulham was his tenth goal of the campaign.
Jenas believes that Newcastle are lucky to have the duo and he insists there are few better when they are at the top of their game.
"On their day, if the pair are on song, then they are unstoppable and are up there with the best," said the England midfielder.
"Nobby is not going to go past people but he is very clever with his mind. When he puts his crosses in they more often that not cause defences problems.
"Laurent, on the other hand, obviously has undoubted ability and with his power and ability to bend the ball it's a massive bonus for us to have two players like that.
"Laurent's goal the other night was a bit of a mad one. It was a great goal. That's just what he is capable of and he has proved that for us this season."
Robert is one of seven Newcastle players to find the net in the league this season apart from prolific skipper Alan Shearer.
That poor return in front of goal has led to Robson scouring the transfer market for new striker, with Swede Henrik Larsson set for talks over signing a pre-contract later this week.
Jenas is one of those Newcastle stars yet to open his account but he is relieved to finally see others finally help Shearer.
"I would like to see myself on the scoresheet but it doesn't seem to be dropping for me at the minute," said the 20-year-old, who will line up alongside Gary Speed in the FA Cup fourth round clash with Liverpool on Saturday.
"A few of the lads are contributing now and it's good to see. Laurent is contributing massively and hopefully we can continue to do that."
Meanwhile, Fulham's Geordie midfielder Lee Clark has paid tribute to the Tyneside crowd after his tremendous reception on Monday.
Clark - who also played for Sunderland - made his first appearance at St. James' Park since leaving in 1997 and was given a standing ovation by the fans.
He said: "It was a very special night right from leading out the team with my son to the tremendous reception at the end. It brought a lump to my throat. I will treasure the memory for the rest of my life."
