A RECORD number of students at a North-East school have been offered places to Oxbridge.
Nine pupils at Yarm School, Yarm, Teesside, have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge, which is 11.5 per cent of the year group.
It also equals the school record for the number of Oxford places offered.
The successful students are: Steven Williams, who will study physics at Exeter College, Oxford; Claire Canavan, who will study English at Jesus College, Cambridge; In Kwon Choi, who will study maths at Jesus College, Cambridge; Richard Davies, who will study economics at Hertford College, Oxford; and Greg Jones, who will study physics at Brasenose College, Oxford.
Richard Lywood will study maths at Oxford and James Mortimer will study psychology at Oxford.
Susie Power will study French at Oriel College, Oxford, and Steven Swinbank will study physics at Wadham College, Oxford.
Headteacher David Dunn said: "This is a fantastic achievement for these individuals and for the school."
