A MAN will appear at crown court tomorrow, accused of trying to kill a woman during a stand-off in which two homes were damaged.
Michael O'Connor, 35, was arrested after emerging from one of two blazing semi-detached properties in Fulforth Way, Sacriston, County Durham, early on Sunday.
He appeared before North Durham magistrates, sitting in Peterlee, on Monday, charged with the attempted murder of a 41-year-old woman and arson with intent to endanger life.
The case was adjourned and Mr O'Connor, of Fulforth Way, was remanded in custody to appear at Newcastle Crown Court tomorrow.
A 41-year-old woman, also of Fulforth Way, was treated in hospital for knife wounds to her arm and bruising after the incident.
