The hard overnight frost took it toll on the fixtures with 17 games postponed.
In the games that did take place in the Premiership goals from Jon-Paul Tallentire, Daniel Lennon and Liam Clough gave Spennymoor Quinns a well-deserved share of the points in a 3-3 draw away to Pelton Roab.
In the First Division, after going three months without a win, Belmont Sportsman's Arms secured a second consecutive league victory to ease their relegation fears against Hetton New Inn. In a hard-fought game, Belmont took the lead through veteran Alan Beveridge when he lobbed the keeper from 20 yards. Within a minute, the game was level when a mix up in the Belmont defence gifted Hetton the equaliser. The score remained the same until ten minutes from time when Graeme Dixon volleyed in an unstoppable shot after good work from Steven Clifford.
The Second Division featured only the one game also Ferryhill WMC made the long journey to Washington Dunlop Tyres and a goal each from Christopher Dixon and Paul Robson gave them a hard fought victory, winning 2-1, Mark Kirtley scoring for the Tyre men.
The Third Division had two games played with Washington Honest Boy and visitors Brandon Sports sharing the points in a 3-3 draw, Nev Caffery, Alan Brumwell and Steve Cockburn for the Honest Boy, Ian Richards, Scott Hobson and Andy Johnson for Brandon Sports.
A cracking encounter in the third division saw visitors Washington Arms snatch victory with two late goals against Ushaw Moor Cricket Club. A John Wilson own goal gave the Cricketers an early lead, the Arms bounced back to take the lead thanks to fine strikes from David Roll and Vinny Moran but in the dying moments of the first half Ushaw Moor level the score from the penalty spot, Darren Stone following up to slot home the ball after his initial kick had been saved by keeper Graham Atkinson. The second half was evenly balanced with both teams creating chances a plenty, but it was the Arms who got the breaks and took home the three points with goals from Vinny Moran and David Lyall.
The Fourth Division fared better four games were played leaders Chester Horner's were 4-2 home winners over the Biddick Inn thanks to strikes from Michael Anderson (2) and one each from Lee Slater and Dave Cowie, Peter Elliott scoring both goals for the Biddick.
Visitors West Rainton Greyhound took the lead in the away game at Lumley Snooker thanks to an Ian Brown goal and looked to have the three points in the bag until the 90th minute when top marksman for the Snooker Club Ritchie Tiffin scored the equaliser.
Langley Park Sports and Social earned a point in the 2-2 draw at Pelton Fleece, Michael Watson and James Cutler scoring, Bob Russell and Jamie Drummond replying for the Fleece.
Witton Gilbert White Tun took all the points in the 2-1 home win over Birtley Coach and Horses. Martin McDonald and sub Graham Anderson scoring, Mike Morris scoring the consolation goal for the Coach and Horses.
