Premier Division: Welfare Cosmopolitan 1 Blackhall Hardwick 1: Both teams played a physical and well-played game in which the home side took the lead when Chris Lennon scored his first of the season as he met a Charlie Coates corner at the far post.

Chris Andrews and Brendon Deer had gone close for Welfare before the goal. Both teams played good football in the second half and Welfare had chances to increase the lead. Blackhall left it late to draw level with Martin Brown scoring his ninth goal in ten games after a save from home keeper Rob Archer.

Second Division

Seaton Holy Trinity 7 Engineers Social Club 1

Tony Swift opened the scoring for the home side only for David Parkinson to level the scores with a well-struck free kick from 25yds. Graham and Swift added further goals for Seaton before Kevin Blenkinsopp made it four from ten yards out. Stuart Robson and Robert Gibbins went close for Engineers before a late flurry from the home side put the game out of reach. Robert Thompson added to the tally before Swift completed his hat trick but was not done there as he finished the scoring in the game with his fourth.

First Division Cup

Hartlepool CC1 Nursery 3

Both team battled hard early on to gain the edge and it was the visitors who took the lead after Anthony Young spotted the opposing keeper off his line and with David Beckham style found the net from inside his own half. Ian Judson doubled the advantage after a well worked move and in the second half Nursery fought off a Cricket Club fight back to put the game beyond doubt with a second from Young. The home side scored a consolation goal but this could not stop Nursery progressing to the next stage.

Travellers Rest 3 Corner Flag 2

In a hard fought game Travellers took the lead as Nick Appleyard capitalised on a mistake from the visitors defence. The home side were punished for failure to finish as Chris James finished well after keeper Jonathan Salvin could only parry Mark Instant's effort. Half time substitute Phil Batty raced clear to restore the lead only for Paul Gillies to level with another parried shot after an entertaining fifteen minutes. Peter Twidale handed the home side victory following a cool finish from the leading scorer with Travellers holding on in a frantic final five minutes.

Throston W. 4 Corporation Welfare 2

Throston were 3-0 and may have thought they had the game won but Welfare made them work for their victory in a game of many chances. Dean Hustler had converted an early spot kick after Gavin Milne was fouled then Darren Howe and Chris Leighton added to the home sides lead. Corporation pulled a goal back only for Gary Moore to finish well to restore the three-goal lead, but again the visitors pulled a goal back. Corporation could have closed the game further in the second half as they were awarded a penalty but a magnificent save from Richard Daley kept his side two goals ahead.

Odessa 3 Ye Olde Durhams 2

It took Paul Martin's extra time goal to separate these two sides in a game that was dominated by a string of top class saves from Odessa keeper Gary Brown. The home side went ahead through Chris Hasting's with man of the match Brown keeping his side in the lead until he was finally beaten in the second half to draw the sides level. The visitors then took the lead with a well-worked move, which started in their own defence. With only minutes left on the clock Jonathan Crone slotted home to send the tie into extra time for Martin to put his side into the semi-final.

Second Division Cup

Fens Hotel 4 Owton Lodge 2

Two first half goals from Andrew Normanton put the visitors into a 2-0 half time lead only for Fens to perform a dream comeback in the second forty five. Craig Davidson started the comeback just after the break and David Millican levelled the tie. Chris Archer put the home side ahead before Millican doubled his tally for the day and complete the comeback with a wonderful chip.

Moorcock 0 Clarendon 6

In a one-sided game Steven Hollis opened the scoring for the visitors from Lee Connor pass and the same combination again payed off for Clarendon to double the lead. Connor got his name on the scoresheet early in the second half with a predatory finish. Liam Alexander then made it four from 20 yds and Hollis completed his hat trick getting on the end of Chris Barlow's pinpoint cross. Connor completed the scoring with a superb finish from Alexander's cross after a well worked passing move.

St Josephs 2 TMD 1

The first half of this riveting cup tie saw both sides hit the woodwork and go close several times but the sides went in to half time level. St Josephs came out strongest in the second half and took the lead through Ray Baxter who found the net with a well-executed overhead kick. The home side added to the lead with Andy Whittet slotting home after racing clear. TMD pulled a goal back but St Josephs held on to book their place in the semi-finals.

King Johns Tavern 2 Charter Bar 1

In an entertaining game Mark Loynes put Charter Bar ahead with a 25yd shot following three great saves from visiting keeper Peter Freeman and efforts from Mitch Davenport and Loynes. The visitors rode their luck in the second half and payed the price as King John's scored two goals and held on to move into the next round.

West Park 1 Rovers 2

In a hard fought cup-tie it was West Park's failure to convert their chances, which saw Rovers, progress to the next round. West Park should have opened the scoring early on but it was Rovers who took the lead through Stephen Ashton. David Appleton drew the sides level just after the break only for Andrew McKenna to restore the lead after rounding Gofton in the Park goal from Stuart Craig's defence splitting pass.

Burn Valley Club 1 Athletic Rugby 0

In a game full of incident Burn Valley edged out Athletic Rugby through a single goal from Anthony Broome early in the first half. The game will not be remembered for his looping header but the 50th minute delay following an injury to Philip Nicholson and the three red cards which were shown in the second half. All concerned with both Burn Valley and Athletic Rugby wish Philip a speedy recovery.

Supporters Ath. 5 Blackhall CC 4

In a highly entertaining game Supporters progressed to the next round through Anthony Williams header in the dying stages after Cricket Club had levelled the tie at 4-4 to set up a tense end to the game. Chris Birkbeck had opened the scoring for Supporters but the visitors managed to draw level before further goals from Birkbeck and Jeff Cooper put the home side well ahead. But tough tackling Cricket Club fought back and were unlucky to end up being knocked out after an excellent cup game.
