A BANK call-centre worker waited only four days in his new job before stealing thousands of pounds from customers.
In only a fortnight, Steven Husband transferred more than £11,000 from customers into his accounts while working at Lloyds TSB, in Sunderland, in July.
Newcastle Crown Court heard that the 20-year-old was employed to process transactions.
The court was told Husband took the money to pay debts.
Husband, of Wiltshire Road, Sunderland, was sentenced to a 120-hour community punishment order and ordered to pay £3,000 compensation. He had previously admitted theft.
