FAMILY pride was at stake when Burgoynnes hit the Horse & Groom for six in Division Three.
It was a case of "anything you can do..." when brothers David and Michael Nicholson both recorded hat-tricks in the 6-2 win over the Groom who replied through Kevin Hoggard and John O'Neill.
Ball Alley were another team of six-hitters when they entertained the Scotch Arms.
Aaron Robinson also enjoyed a hat-trick in the 6-1 win. He was joined on the score sheet by Andrew Potter, Martrin Pritchard and Michael Finlow with Kerson Howe replying with the Scotch Arms consolation goal.
Hat & Feather did even better when winning 7-2 at Medomsley Miners with seven different scorers while the Duke of Wellington were 4-0 victors over Hamsteels. Even goalkeeper Andrew Sheekey got in on the scoring act along with Dean Elder and two-goal Mark Armstrong.
In the only Second Division match to be played, Chris Hamilton and Keith Morris goals steered Shaftoes to a 2-1 win at Smiths Arms who replied through Alan Robinson.
After successive defeats, Lintz Cricket Club enjoyed a timely return to form when they beat Witton Gilbert WMC to reach the semi-final of the Consett Charity Cup.
Gary Christie hit a hat-trick in the 5-2 win along with Mark Benson and Phil Watson with Richard Eland and Chris Lind replying.
