A PLANNING inspector has given approval for an outbuilding to be demolished and rebuilt following an appeal.
North York Moors National Park's planning committee had rejected the scheme at 40 North End, Osmotherley, because it was in a conservation area and there was a grade II-listed house nearby.
But government inspector Karen McCabe ruled that the development could go ahead, saying: "I consider that the development would preserve the character and appearance of the conservation area"
Permission has also been granted on appeal for a garden room at Cobble Cottage, Black Horse Lane, Swainby, and a garage, extension and utility room at Willow Croft, Carlton in Cleveland.
Two appeals have been dismissed - for a house at Sneaton Hall Hotel, Sneaton, and replacement windows at The Anchorage, Cowbar.
