CRICKET legend Ian Botham knocked shoppers for six yesterday when he turned up in their midst.
The great all-rounder attracted a big crowd when he arrived in Richmond, North Yorkshire, to re-open the Help the Aged shop following its facelift.
He signed autographs and posed for pictures as fans gathered for a glimpse of him at the shop, in Chantry Wynd, Finkle Street.
Shop manager Anne Allmark said: "We were all very excited that Ian agreed to re-open the shop for us and look forward to welcoming customers back after our re-fit.
"It's amazing what a difference a coat of paint makes. Other alterations, including improved disability access to the fitting room, are most welcome.
"We continue to be amazed at the quality and variety of donations that we receive and with more space to display goods our customers will really be spoilt for choice."
