A LADIES' football club is seeking sponsors to help the team play in a competition in Sweden.
Lumley Ladies, formed with less than 20 members in May 2002, attracts more than 100 female footballers to weekly training sessions at Chester-le-Street Riverside.
The club has teams from under-tens to seniors, which are so far unbeaten in their maiden season in the women's Northern Regional League Division Two.
It is raising money after being invited to compete in the Gothia Cup, in Sweden, in July.
Forthcoming fundraising events to help meet the cost of running the club include a racenight in Lumley Snooker Club on Saturday, April 3, and a sponsored bike ride on Monday, May 3.
Secretary Dennis Price said: "All monies raised from whatever source are used entirely for the benefit of our players and their teams, to enable them to play the sport they love."
To help the club, call 0191-389 4494.
