An extra time goal from Stuart Irvine gave Bishop Auckland a place in the semi-final of the League Cup with a 2-1 win over Burscough.
After Mark Foster cleared off the line for Bishops, they took the lead after 26 minutes when Craig Robson fired home from the edge of the box.
But Burscough levelled deep into first half stoppage time through Gary Martindale in a goalmouth scramble.
Bishops hit the woodwork in the second half, and scored the winner in the first period of extra time when Nicky Scaife crossed for Irvine to score from six yards.
However, Burscough nearly forced penalties, but missed an easy chance in the dying seconds.
Bishops boss Brian Honour said: "It was a battle, but we edged through. It's great to be in two cup semi-finals, and a chance of promotion."
Two goals from recent signings Micky Gough and Simon Colligan revived Spennymoor's promotion hopes with their first win in seven league games at home to Runcorn on Saturday.
The win was a great relief to Moors, considering their off the field problems and recent slide down the table, and restores their hopes of a top thirteen place.
Manager Tony Lee said: "I hope we've turned the corner now.
"In some recent games, we've played well and not won. This time, we defended well, and created plenty of chances.
"I thought Micky was outstanding at both ends of the field, and is tailor-made for this league, while young Simon took his goal well."
However, the game started badly for Moors.
Runcorn missed two good chances before they took the lead with a left foot volley by Matty McGinn after 27 minutes.
But Moors hit back immediately, when a corner came out to centre half Gough, who coolly volleyed home from ten yards with his left foot.
He missed an easier chance to score another before the break, but Moors took the lead after 52 minutes when a long throw by Phil Brumwell dropped for teenager Colligan to fire home with the help of a deflection.
Justin Perry was denied twice, while Moors keeper Gareth Downey made a good one handed save from a misdirected headed back pass by Gough late in the game.
Anthony Shandran, who was released by Moors last week, scored one of the goals in Gateshead's 2-0 home win over Rossendale in the First Division.
Mark Rasmussen scored their other goal.
Whitby lost 2-1 at home to Droylsden in the League Cup after taking an early lead through Graham Robinson.
Blyth lost 1-0 at home to Kidsgrove in the Chairman's Cup.
