A BEST-selling Yorkshire author signed copies of her wartime romance this weekend.
Elizabeth Elgin, from Boroughbridge, signed copies of her paperback, A Scent of Lavender, on Saturday, at White Rose books, in Thirsk.
The novel is set during the Second World War and is about Lorna Hatherwood, a middle- class housewife, who married to a dull, older husband.
However, Lorna's life expands with the onset of the war, and she catches the eye of a young medical officer.
Many of Ms Elgin's novels are set in wartime Yorkshire and she has sold 750,000 novels worldwide. Her novel, One Summer at Deer's Leap, was listed in the national top ten bestsellers.
A Scent of Lavender is published by HarperCollins and is priced £6.99.
The next Children's Storytime at the bookshop is on Saturday, January 31, for children three years and over, at 10.30am.
