A JAPANESE pianist, who achieved the highest distinction at the Royal College of Music, will be performing at the Kirkleatham Almshouses, near Redcar.
Mami Shikimori won the award in 1999 before studying for a year at the University of Southern California, where she broadcast with Radio KUSC.
She continues to perform extensively throught the Far East and at key venues in Britain, including Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
Peter Sotheran, from the almshouses, said: "A year ago Miss Shikimori dazzled us with her Debussy and her Chopin. We are delighted to welcome her back to Kirkleatham this year."
Tickets cost £10 by credit card on (01287) 632225, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm and 9am to 4.30pm on Saturdays.
