CASH from a wishing well has boosted the charity fund of the Mayor of Durham, Councillor Ray Gibbon.
Parents waiting with their youngsters to see Father Christmas, at the Prince Bishops Centre grotto, were invited to make a small cash donation in the well.
With money made from the sale of photographs of children meeting Santa, the final total came to £611, which was presented yesterday to Coun Gibbon.
The mayor's appeal aims to boost the work of the Durham Volunteer Bureau, which supports people performing voluntary work in the city.
