AN exhibition exploring the diverse and changing nature of people in the Yorkshire Dales opens next month.
Part of the Landscape will be on show at the Dales Countryside Museum, in Hawes, from February 7, and aims to explode the myth that only one type of Dales person exists.
The exhibition is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park 50th anniversary celebrations and will explore who has arrived, stayed in or left the Dales and why.
Fiona Rosher, manager of the Dales Countryside Museum, said: "People have been coming and going in and out of the Dales for thousands of years and there are many different reasons for why they've chosen to stay or to leave.
"The exhibition uses the idea of the landscape as a Dales character who has witnessed these movements and helps to describe them to our visitors."
The exhibition features three gazebos which cover the themes of conflict, lifestyle and work, and will contain interactive displays for people of all ages.
There will also be games for children, a reading corner and visitors can leave their thoughts on a tree sited in the exhibition.
They can also be photographed or write a comment to be incorporated into a visual presentation beamed onto the museum wall.
The exhibition runs until Sunday, April 18, and admission is free.
