CHILDREN celebrated the opening of a computer suite yesterday.
Pupils aged between 11 and 16 at West Redcar Community School, in Redcar, will also benefit from a computer graphics package, which will allow them to produce professional coursework for their GCSEs.
Robert Day, an area trainer for the Pro Desktop computer software, from Cadcam Applications Training and Support, in Middlesbrough, opened the suite.
The company trains engineers around the world.
Harry Davies, the head of design and technology at the school, said: "The kids are very excited about the new suite and the new computer package.
"Knowledge of the programme will allow them to be ahead of the game while producing their GCSE coursework, for example, engineering drawings.
"We have also got a licence, which allows 300 of the older kids to take it home to put on their own computers."
