A £400,000 high-tech fast food outlet has opened on Teesside creating 30 new jobs and securing about 100 others in traditional ancillary bakery areas.
Super Sandwich in the town's Castlegate Shopping Centre is owned by Paul Morgan who already owns 14 bakery shops across Teesside. The 60ft long, 1,000 sq ft outlet was described by its owner as the ultimate "grazing station" as it is open 12 hours a day offering a range of savoury and sweet products.
Mr Morgan said: "Super Sandwich is all about personal choice. It clearly demonstrates that there is a much better alternative to pre-packed sandwiches."
And he has plans for expanding the concept: "We have chosen Castlegate for our flagship store and hopefully others will follow either directly owned or as franchises".
