ABI Curry, a product of Tennis World's renowned junior programme, has won the Ariel 12 and under winter national grand prix.
The event, held in Nottingham last weekend, showcased the best of her age group.
It was the 11-year-old's first victory in the national series and confirms her as one of the best in the country at under-12 level. The result also means she will compete at the Grand Masters in Abingdon next month.
Nigel Garton, director of coaching at Tennis World, watched Abi, from Carlton, near Stockton, play in Nottingham. He said: "Abi has been competing at the top of her age group consistently over the past few years, but this result really highlights her talent and desire to be the best.
"With continued hard work, focus and development she is definitely one to be watched for the future".
Her results from the weekend weree as follows. - First round: beat Jessica Ren (Yorkshire) 6-1, 7-5. Second round: beat V Mill (Middlesex) 6-0, 6-4. Semi-final: beat E Share 6-3, 7-6. Final: beat Jennifer Ren (Yorkshire) 6-4, 4-6, tie break for third set 12-10.
